This is the blog for this summer's coast to coast bicycle ride. The planning and preparation began months ago, and is well underway, so the story truly does start in the middle - at least this telling of the story.
If you know us, then you know that it's Dale and Riley who are planning to make this ride. If you don't know us already, then you now know our names. A little more to add is that Dale and Riley are a father and son duo who are setting out on this adventure. Dale is a 53 (soon to be 54) year old teacher, and Riley is a 17 year old college student.
It seems that there are about a million blogs out there about coast-to-coast bicycle rides, so I'll try to make it a million and one. The purpose of this blog is to let people know where we are at and if we have killed each other yet. Hey, I'll be phoning home every day, but I do know a few other people and I figure that the blog will be an effective way to keep everyone updated with a minimum of effort.
The main objective of this post was simply to get it done; start a blog and make a posting. Mission accomplished!
